The Wessex Rivers Trust are co-partners on the landscape partnership scheme which is being co-ordinated by Hampshire & Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust. In 2017 the NHLF allocated a grant of £269,400 to allow the partnership to progress with and develop its plans over the next 18 months. The detailed stage 2 application was submitted in November 2019, following which NHLF will make a final decision on the remaining £1.9 million grant requested. If successful, the delivery phase will run for 5 years from spring 2020 to 2025. The Trust and wide range of partners will deliver a programme of approximately 20 natural and cultural heritage projects including: Chalk Stream Habitat Restoration, Education Programme, Natural Flood Management, Spawning Gravels (Fish Passage), Stopping Sediments, Tackling Invasives, and Restoring Our Chalk Stream Structures.
