Did you know?

• Coy pond gardens are part of the Grade 2 English Heritage listed gardens group for their Victorian heritage.
• In 1935 the gardens were leased to what was then the borough of Bournemouth for 999 years by Robert Ives and Frederick Ray. Prior to this little is known about them.
• During the 1940s they were partly converted into allotments to help with the war effort but have now been returned to public gardens.
• The gardens have since been planted up with Willow and Alder trees, which are water loving trees that thrive along riverbanks (see if you can spot any).
• The River Bourne flows though the gardens providing an interesting and great habitat for many species.
