Volunteer Opportunities

Education Volunteer

We are looking for passionate volunteers to inspire the next generation about the rivers of Wessex. You will be supporting our Education Officer in delivering hands on school sessions. Training will be provided, and the role will require a Disclosure and Barring Service check (DBS).

We love receiving amazing images of our catchments from volunteers. If you are a budding photographer and have some great images or footage that could be added to our media library for educational and promotional use, please get in touch.

Practical River Restoration Volunteer

Many of our projects need some extra hands to help deliver all the great practical work we do across our catchment. This can range from tackling invasive species to in-steam channel works to restore rivers back to their former glory.

Clean Rivers Volunteer

Throughout the year we run river clean-ups to improve the health of our rivers by removing plastic and potential toxins, as well as regenerating forgotten stretches of river. This is the perfect opportunity to highlight rivers that may need a little help in your local area.

Be our eyes and ears!

Pollution can have a devastating impact on the health of our rivers. If you see a pollution event on your local river, make a difference and report it to the Environment Agency Hotline   0800 807060.
