• Willow is a common, fast growing tree, found along riverbanks, lakes, and wet woodlands.
• There are five species of native willow trees (Grey, Crack, Goat, Weeping and White Willow).
• Willow trees provide great habitat providing nectar for bees, food for caterpillars, and sites for nesting birds.
• They are often hinged into rivers to add in-stream woody habitat while increasing biodiversity and flow.
• Trees are also great at stabilising river banks to stop them eroding into the river
