Upper Gardens (Middle) - Point 2
Barriers

Mobirise

Directions:

Follow the path, looking out for a large cedar tree.

Did you know?

• This structure is the remnants of a water wheel, which pumped water into the water tower and powered a fountain, just upstream.
• The water tower would have provided irrigation to the gardens.
• However, now its acting as a fish barrier making it harder for the fish to travel upstream.
• It is a great example of how rivers have had their uses change thought history and how humans are always adapting them, what do you think is going to happen to rivers in the future?
