Did you know?

• Climate change will have a big impact on our rivers, due to changing weather patterns.
• Scientists have predicted that both flooding and drought events will become more common and extreme, which will put rivers out of their natural rhythm.
• This can cause issues for wildlife that rely on the river, such as fish and dragonfly.
• However, rivers are very important for fighting climate change as they have a natural cooling effect on the area around them and provides a refuge for wildlife.
• At Wessex Rivers Trust we are working to restore rivers and make them more resilient to climate change in the future.
• You can learn more about this here.
