Point 6 - Sturminster Newton Mill

Directions:

At this point turn left and keep the river on your right. You can, however, take a detour to visit Sturminster Newton Mill and see the machinery working first-hand.

Did you know?

- Sturminster Newton Mill is a working mill, which has been on this site for at least 1000 years!!
- Flour has been produced by the water wheel for the whole time.
- There is a large metal turbine (wheel) under the water which provides the power for the machinery on all three floors.
- The mill is open 11am – 5pm Saturday, Sunday, Monday and Thursday (March – September)
- The mill is run by volunteers. If you would like to help, please contact them via their website.
