Otters
- Otters are one of the UK’s top predators, eating fish, water birds, amphibians and crustaceans (basically any medium sized animal that they can catch!). There are lots of Otters on the River Stour as there as so many fish to catch.
- Otters can close their ears and nose when underwater!
- You are more likely to see signs of an Otter than to see the creature themselves, as they are really shy. Along the walk try to spot five-toed footprints in the mud and Otter droppings, called “Spraints”, in prominent places.
- Watch our video on how Otters adapt to their environment here.
